The Emergency Planning and Management concentration is designed for students who want to work in the emergency planning field. With the Emergency Planning and Management Concentration, you'll gain a solid educational foundation for a fulfilling career helping other.

This program is designed to prepare students to demonstrate the following program learning outcomes:
  1. Recognize the context and history of public administration in the United States and examine the role of leaders and leadership in the public sector.
  2. Demonstrate an analytical approach to establish public policies and programs.
  3. Develop an understanding of the role of public budgets in the governance process.
  4. Defend the complexities of managing human resources in the public sector.
  5. Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate verbally, in writing and electronically.
  6. Recognize and understand issues of diversity in public administration and how diversity impacts organizational behavior.
  7. Identify the principles of ethical behavior in public administration.
  8. Understand and apply the principles of Incident Command and the National Incident Management System
  9. Describe and assess the functions of public safety organizations.
  10. Understand how policies and plans are developed and implemented in emergency preparedness.
  11. Describe and assess the functions of public safety organizations.
